Bequests
Most people know how important it is to
have a will. Once you
have provided for the people you love, you may wish to consider a
bequest to the KVHS. Naming the KVHS will strengthen the
society and increase its financial security to provide for thousands of
stray abandoned and unwanted animals each year. A bequest
could take one of the following forms:
A specific bequest: "I devise and bequeath to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, located in Augusta, Maine, the sum of $____ (or, ___% of my estate) to be used for the Society's general purposes."
A residuary bequest: "I devise and bequeath to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, located in Augusta, Maine, all (or specify ___%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, whether real, personal or mixed, to be used for the Society's general purposes."
By remembering the Humane Society in your will, or through a life insurance policy, your legacy of caring for animals will continue long after you are gone. Click here for more information »
