Services
KVHS serves as an animal control facility with 24 hour,
7-day-a-week access, for Animal Control Officers.
KVHS holds stray dogs for the state-mandated six-day holding
period. This period allows owners to reclaim their dogs before making
them available for adoption.
KVHS holds stray cats for the state-mandated 24 hour holding
period before making them available for adoption. This period allows
owners to reclaim their cats before making them available for adoption.
KVHS provides a quarantine facility for stray animals that
have bitten people for the state-mandated ten day rabies observation
period.
KVHS collects impoundment fees as requested by municipalities
and ensures all reclaimed dogs are licensed.

required to be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption.
KVHS offers lost and found services
KVHS, in conjunction with 11 participating veterinarians,
offers a free exam program for new adopters
KVHS offers adoption counseling services to help aid in the
selection of the appropriate pet for each family
