 Missing Pets


The staff here at KVHS works hard to post every stray that comes in; however, please keep in mind that we may not be able to post them all. If you don't see your missing pet listed below please call the shelter at 626-3491.


A short haired, female brown tabby with white came in as a stray from Burger King/Western Avenue in Augusta on Wednesday, September 1. KVHS staff named her Tiff.





2 female, short haired, brown tabby cats came to KVHS as strays from the Plains Road in Readfield on Saturday, August 28. KVHS staff named them Megan and Jesse.

KVHS serves as an animal control facility with 24 hour, 7-day-a-week access, for Animal Control Officers.

KVHS holds stray dogs for the state-mandated six-day holding period. This period allows owners to reclaim their dogs before making them available for adoption.

KVHS holds stray cats for the state-mandated 24 hour holding period before making them available for adoption. This period allows owners to reclaim their cats before making them available for adoption.

To reclaim a lost dog or cat KVHS collects impoundment fees as requested by municipalities. All dogs must be licensed in order to reclaim.
